FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Clear answers for parents and learners before booking a first lesson.

Lessons and language

Do you teach in Afrikaans?

Yes. Lessons, explanations, homework support, and selected PDF resources can be supported in both English and Afrikaans. Volledige tweetalige ondersteuning is available where needed.

Which grades do you teach?

I support Mathematics from Grades 8–12 and Mathematical Literacy from Grades 10–12. If a younger learner needs foundational logic or early high-school preparation, parents can message on WhatsApp to check fit.

Are lessons online or in person?

Lessons are online, allowing students to receive structured support, shared notes, and digital resources without needing to travel.

How does the first lesson work?

The first lesson acts as a diagnostic starting point. We look at the learner's current level, school context, language preference, and the areas where they feel stuck. From there, we decide what kind of support makes sense.

Do you provide homework?

Yes. Homework is focused and purposeful rather than overwhelming. The goal is to practise the exact skill that needs strengthening.

Can students send school work or test scopes?

Yes. Students can send current school work, upcoming test scopes, past papers, or specific questions they struggled with. Lessons are most effective when they connect directly to what the learner is doing at school.

Progress and support

Do you help students who are already failing?

Yes. The first step is to identify why the learner is struggling. Sometimes the issue is foundation, sometimes method, sometimes confidence, and sometimes exam technique. The support plan depends on the real cause.

Do you only help top students?

No. The method is useful for both struggling learners and stronger learners who want more structure, better exam technique, or higher marks.

Can parents see progress?

Where the portal is enabled, lesson notes, homework, and resources are kept structured so that parents and students can see what has been covered and what still needs attention.

Booking and payment

How much does a lesson cost?

Lessons are R350 per 60-minute online session, paid by EFT after each lesson.

Do I need to commit to a package?

No. Start with one lesson. Continue only if the structure, teaching style, and support feel like the right fit.

What if no slots are available?

To protect lesson quality, the roster is intentionally kept small. If no scheduler slots are available, parents can message on WhatsApp to ask about the waiting list.

Still unsure if it is the right fit?

Send a short WhatsApp message with the learner's grade, subject, language preference, and current area of difficulty.
